Abhyanga is the practice of self-massage with oil. It is one of the non-negotiable practices I teach in my evolving habits course because it invites you to become integrated in your own body.
On the basic mental level it calms the nerves and helps to balance to nervous system from the touch and massage. Going a bit deeper it helps you feel comfortable in your own skin by the loving touch you offer yourself through the practice.
There are many physical benefits fro this practice such as,
- Increased circulation
- Lymphatic movement
- Healthier lustrous skin
- Movement of toxins in skin
- Increased mental focus
- Relaxation of nervous system
